Enhancing the platform
Note: This is only one example of a project I've worked on for the Financial Health Pilot. This led to multiple follow-ups through
The aim of the Financial Health Pilot is to empower members to manage their financial goals effectively while building trust and encouraging long-term engagement.
What are the areas we can work on to improve the Financial Health Pilot?
Working with a few members from the Financial Health Pilot team, we put together a preliminary draft of a hypothesis map.
Within the span of two weeks, I conducted 8 member interviews to better understand the current gaps we have within the platform.
After conducting 8 member interviews, I presented the following themes to focus on in future iterations:
Personalization: Offer a guided onboarding with minimal, relevant questions about financial situation. Ensure data usage is transparent.
Trust, accessibility, discovery: Use clear language, credible endorsements, and visible security badges. Ensure SEO-friendly content.
Hybrid guidance and empathetic support: Provide a blend of AI-driven insights and human coaching via chat or scheduled calls.
Notifications, nudges, preferences: Deliver critical alerts and consolidate non-critical updates into digests. Include motivational and re-engagement nudges.
Goal setting functionality: Must have ability to create, edit, and prioritize goals. Ideally it has a section for adding notes and deadlines.
Progress visualization and motivations: Introduce dashboards with charts, projections, and impact metrics. Reinforce success through milestone celebrations, badges, and more.
Financial calculators: Provide interactive calculators for debt payoff strategies, savings growth projections, and more.
Automated savings: Implement Round-Up savings, recurring micro-transfers, and AI-driven recommendations for optimal transfer amounts.
